♬ Blitzen Trapper – American Goldwing

Sub Pop Records has been making some interesting moves lately. They’ve been making forays into hip hop (Shabazz Palaces, TheeSatisfaction) & world music for the first time and some of their best selling albums of late have been coming from the folk & americana side of things (Fleet Foxes, The Head and the Heart). They’ve also been pre-leaking some of their new releases on Soundcloud, a music streaming website that is pretty tough to rip for the masses.

Their latest “pleak”, Blitzen Trapper’s latest LP American Goldwing, scheduled for release on September 13, hit the net this morning. We’ve made it a policy not to post leaked music here on RFS, but you can’t really even call it a leak if it’s put out by the label. We’ll call it a streaming pre-retail release.

We’ll add some commentary & background on the band after we’ve had some time to give it a couple of listens, but in the meantime check it out & let us know what you think…
