♬ Deep Sea Diver – History Speaks
I couldn’t be more excited about History Speaks, the debut LP from Jessica Dobson’s Deep Sea Diver. I caught a short set of DSD when they were opening for CampfireOK and Pickwick a couple months ago and they caught my ear right off the bat, so I’ve been waiting to get my hairy paws on this one for a while now. I’m seriously digging it – this is really creative stuff.
Jessica knows her way around a guitar, having performed on the road with Beck, Spoon and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs over the last couple of years. The girl can shred. Her new gig (outside of DSD – get some sleep, girl!!) finds her bending strings as part of the latest lineup of the Shins, along with Richard Swift and some serious talent supporting Mr. Mercer. Deep Sea Diver is slated to open for the Shins on part of the midwest leg of their tour in support of their new LP Port of Morrow in early June… somebody’s gonna have some sore fingertips.
History Speaks hits the market today and if you’re in the Seattle area you can catch their CD release party with the RFS staff tonight at Columbia City Theater.

They are so unique and yet just what I’ve been looking for. She sets a great mood with her awesome voice and fun lyrics. One of the best albums I own. If you get a chance to see them live, do it!
Beautiful voice and guitar-playing. I really enjoy this album. Super fun live too!
I’m loving this! How was the show?
Actually, went down for the show with Mrs. RFS & grabbed a pizza instead of tickets right off the bat. By the time we finished & walked over to the theater, they were sold out. Bummer. I heard it was a great show, though.
We’re going to Seattle for a little vaca in mid-March & want to catch some live music. Drop me a line.
Tried to, but you must have mistyped your email address. Contact me via email if you see this… music@radiofreesodo.com

Thanks! I’m so there. I’ll find you & say hi!
