♬ Ivan & Alyosha – EP²
Ivan & Alyosha have released Fathers Be Kind, the follow-up EP to late 2009′s spectacular The Verse, The Chorus. Earlier reports had them scheduled to start production on a new full length in April of 2011, so there is a good possibility that a full debut LP should be dropping soon but the catch is that they’re currently on tour with dates across the United States (also below), and with that schedule I can’t imagine them getting too much work done on a new LP anytime soon.

Hey- I caught these guys on NPR a few months ago & had forgotten about them. I think that they have a pretty unique sound for such a young group. Great songwriting. Love that lead singer’s voice.
I am so grateful for this post. Really. Love the cool sound. Not cool as in hipster cool. Cool as in the effortless and simplistic approach to the music. These guys are going to be big!
I heard Fathers Be Kind featured on the NPR SXSW festival blog, immediately fell in love with it and ended up here to check out their other stuff. Definitely among my favorite EPs of the year so far. They have a tight, clean Neo-Beatles sound. I admit, I am a bit biased towards a good vocalist, and this band definitely has that. Definitely check out “Easy to Love” on their “The Verse, The Chorus”.
I fell in love with “Easy to Love”! Beautiful Lie is pretty nice. Overall, this album is simple and sweet and not a must have by any means. Save your money but definitely buy the individual track Easy to Love and maybe throw in Beautiful Lie.
